Meet XT Biomed

XT Biomed – open for business on February 1st 2022 at the brand-new Maidstone Innovation Centre. Specialising in the Design and Manufacture of Medical and In Vitro Diagnostic Devices, they have the expertise to develop innovative, robust, and easy to use products for the life-Science industry.

Lead by Managing Director Tom Cole, the company order book is filling up fast for 2022/23.  Cole, previously CEO of ITL – a successful Medical Device Company, sold to technology group Gooch and Housego in 2018 – is joined by his two engineers – James Knight (Head of Engineering) and Tom Haydon (Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer) who both bring invaluable knowledge of the Medical Device industry to the company.

Cole said “We are incredibly excited about starting our new business and working within the impressive Innovation Centre. When one door closes, another bigger opportunity opens. The pandemic has sparked a new generation of healthcare start-ups and XT Biomed are well placed with their many years of experience in designing and making medical devices. When you risk your own money, you tend to be more focused with your approach to business”.

There is no doubt that Cole as Managing Director and his two engineers are focusing on a potentially lucrative market. With accelerated approval processes, and an ever increasing need for efficient and practical treatments, the healthcare industry is in a very exciting period for growth and innovation.

The ability to be flexible while remaining focused on the core market will be key for XT Biomed.

Managing Director Tom Cole said “Creating the right culture from day one to develop leading edge technology will be important for us. Combining strategy, creativity, and medical device knowledge with a passion for life-sciences. Our team are well placed to make a difference. We truly understand the challenges and needs of our customers from design through to manufacturing and our energy and drive will make things happen for our clients. We will be one of the technology champions within the Maidstone Innovation Centre.”
