Be part of Maidstone’s first research and development event

Maidstone Innovation Centre (MIC) is holding its first ever Research and Development event on Wednesday 9 November and is asking for ideas and topics to make sure it will be of benefit to all attendees.

Interested businesses are being asked to complete a short survey about the topics that interest them and their organisation and the information will be used to inform the agenda and sessions for the innovative event.

Working in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) and partners; Barclays Eagle Labs, Innovate UK Edge, SEHTA and NCL Technology Ventures the event will act as the catalyst to incentivise new collaboration opportunities and sharing of information between companies and academics.

Leader of Maidstone Borough Council, Cllr David Burton said: “This exciting event will showcase the latest Innovative Research and Development work being carried out by CCCU and our industrial partners.

“It will demonstrate how this work can be adopted to accelerate businesses in the commercial landscape of MedTech, Life Science and Healthcare as well as provide information and opportunities for funding and investment.

“I have visited CCCU and they have an absolutely amazing set of facilities with engineering, flow logic, programming and much more. They have a really hands-on environment and are very welcoming to businesses that could use their resources and work alongside them.

“This will be a great opportunity for businesses to see prototypes of new ideas and find out more about the MedTech industry.”

Get involved in the fascinating event by taking part in the short survey which takes less than 10 minutes to complete. The survey closes 17 October 2022.

David Burton continues: ”The Maidstone Innovation Centre offers the best in terms of facilities, support and expertise. It is a fantastic business asset to Maidstone and this event demonstrates that Maidstone is the business capital of Kent and very much open for business.”

Maidstone Innovation Centre is a Maidstone Borough Council initiative, which was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014- 2020 and offers state of the art facilities with flexible working space, offices, meeting rooms and conference facilities. Part of the Kent Medical Campus, it is aimed at businesses working in the life science, healthcare and medical sectors.
